Dave Rapp's garden
Throughout the spring, summer, and fall of 2009, parishioners from Emmanuel gathered at the home of long-time members David and Jeanne Rapp, tending to the family's vegetable garden, as a way to raise funds for the Blue Ridge Food Bank. Meneta Deaton took the lead in recruiting church members to help out, and created a blog to keep a record of the activities: Dave's garden stories. Jeanne Rapp passed away in November 2009.
